Floating for Routine Self Care & Wellness.

Most people think of Float Therapy as a luxury experience or something exciting and new to try once. However, floating can be an essential part of our overall wellness routine that is vital now more than ever.

In today’s fast paced, overstimulated, technologically driven world it is important to take a break from our stressors, cultivating the inner freedom to relax and create rest for our mind and body.

Float pods create an environment free from distractions and outside stimuli that can teach us how to naturally balance and calm our nervous system. Floating activates the parasympathetic nervous system (our 'rest and digest' mode) and puts our sympathetic nervous system (our 'fight or flight' response) on standby.

Studies show that even a single float session can have a positive impact, from relaxation to pain relief, the benefits of float therapy are cumulative and long term benefits are achieved by creating a routine float practice.

Scientific Research has shown frequent floating can provide lasting benefits such as reducing blood pressure, reducing effects of anxiety, reducing chronic pain, and improving the body’s ability to heal faster.

While you can float every day without harm, on average clients see benefits of using float therapy once weekly to monthly. For managing chronic conditions, more routine floating may be needed.

Each person’s body and circumstances are different, so one size does not fit all for our self care needs. To help you develop a solid floating practice that is right for you, we’ve created the following guide as a starting point for incorporating floating into your wellness routine.

First Float

The first time you try float therapy it is recommended to float 3 times within about 3-6 weeks of each other. Since floating is such a new experience, it can take once or twice to get comfortable with the experience.
